Pembroke House
Pembroke House is a dormitory at Oxford University. It is where Bex stays during her semester abroad and where she meets her roommates and friends Cilla, Gaz, Clive, Bea, Joss, and Nick. Throughout the novel, both Bex and Nick refer to Pembroke house as being a haven: a phase of their relationship where they did not have to be concerned with the media following them and could enjoy a carefree lifestyle.
Bex's Flat
After graduating from Cornell, Bex gets her own apartment in London. Her relationship with Nick allows her some comforts, such as treating her family to a nice hotel or dinner, but her apartment, with ants and no heat, reflects the reality that the secrecy of their relationship means she is forced to live in total normalcy.
