Summary

Part Five, Chapter One picks up where the prologue left off, and returns to present tense narration. Bex is having her hair and makeup done on the day before her wedding, and Lacey bursts into the room saying, “I did something” (395). Bex shows Lacey the threatening texts she has been receiving, knowing that Lacey has something to do with it. Bex knows that Clive is behind The Royal Flush and that Lacey has been leaking him information. Lacey insists she was tricked into it, but that Clive has her on tape confessing to things. Nancy interferes, demanding to know what is going on. Bex explains her kiss with Freddie and how Clive is attempting blackmail. Lacey explains that she overheard Freddie’s confession to Bex, leading her to jealously give Clive the information. He later recorded her...
