Summary

In Part Two, Chapter Three, Bex heads to the “sleepy mountain village” (144) of Klosters, along with Nick and their friends. Bex runs into Clive, who complains about his struggling career and inquires why Bex and Nick are still a secret. Nick appears, and Clive announces he is dating Gemma Sands, Nick’s ex. Bex is convinced she hears jealousy in Nick’s response. That night at dinner, Nick’s family openly mocks Bex--her American status in particular. Freddie distracts Bex with chatter. After dinner and drinks, Bex finds Bea helping her overly-intoxicated sister, Pudge. Bex helps Bea deal with Pudge’s sickness and gets her to bed. With Pudge asleep, Bea lectures Bex about dating Nick, saying he is a full-time job.
