The Kingdom of Araluen

Maddie is a princess in the Kingdom of Araluen. Araluen is a faraway, fictional land that existed long ago. The royal family lives in the Castle Araluen and rules over the Squires who have authority over the fiefs that comprise the Kingdom.

Will’s Cabin

Maddie travels to Will’s cabin in a wooded area of the Kingdom. She stays at the cabin for her training as an apprentice Ranger. She has her own private room and there are stables for the horses. Will trains her in the skills of tracking and camouflage and weaponry in the nearby woods.

The Gatt Farm

Maddie and Will help a farmer who is losing his chickens and eggs to a predatory animal that sneaks into the barnyard. Maddie takes out the creature, a marten, with one shot from her sling.
