Maddie

Princess Madelyn, or Maddie as she is known, is a spoiled and privileged princess in the Kingdom of Araluen. She is a fifteen-year-old who finds her life as a princess to be boring. She likes to track and hunt animals in the forest at night. She sneaks out in the dark to follow this pursuit much to the dismay of her parents.

Maddie’s parents scold her about her dangerous behavior. There are many perils in the forest, such as bears and other dangerous animals. She is particularly vulnerable to kidnapping because of her position in the monarchy. There are outlaws and brigands in the forest who could abduct her for ransom. Maddie must take her position as a royal princess seriously because she is an heir to the throne. However, Maddie cannot see spending her days sewing and doing needlework with her ladies-in-waiting.
