Summary

Chapter 23

Will felt guilty leaving Maddie alone for the weekend. She assured him she’d be fine and would probably turn in early. As soon as he left, Maddie took her saddle pack and bent it into the shape of a sleeping person and covered it up in her bed – just in case Will came home early and checked on her. She walked to the village because if Bumper was gone when Will returned, it would be a dead giveaway. She sneaked by Jenny’s restaurant pulling her cloak close around her – “trust the cloak” she remembered. She joined Lucy, Gordon and Martin near the stable behind the inn who were all sitting around a small fire.
