Rose Christine Marchand

Rose Christine Marchand is the heroine of the novel. She is the daughter of Celestine and Laurent Marchand and the half-sister of Reginer. She is also the stepdaughter of Ombrine and stepsister of Desiree. When Rose is only thirteen, her mother makes a wish to the goddess Artemis that her daughter will know always that she is loved.
