Chapter 8 Summary
Though Steve and Daisy stand in line for a while, they ultimately decide to start with a more mild ride, for which Officer Schmidt looks relieved. Elsie and Kevin decide to brave the coasters, while Schmidt, Steve and Daisy leave to stroll through the park. They sit to enjoy snacks after a while, and Steve asks how Daisy likes the fun day. She claims to enjoy it, though her senses are a little overwhelmed. She enjoys the strolling and people watching more than the coasters and wants to stay to see the park at night.
As they continue to watch people pass in hordes through the park, Daisy becomes pensive. She wonders if other people have more direction in their lives than her. She admits to some dissatisfaction with her life, along with some flagging passion in her doctoral studies. In frustration, she...
