Chapter 7 Summary
As they drive to the charity function, Steve admires Daisy's appropriately classy outfit. He also describes the neighborhood as showy, including large homes and set back, long driveways. He explains that Aunt Zena lives in the city, but the house belongs to one of her clients.
At the party, Steve introduces Daisy to Aunt Zena, who quickly recognizes Daisy as the dog lady from the radio show. Several people at the party recognize Daisy as well, and she gains celebrity status quickly. They even comment on her recent history of nabbing criminals, which Daisy brushes off. Though she sees the notoriety as a part of her job, Steve resents it. He realizes that, as her boss, he should enjoy it. However, as her boyfriend, he wants her to himself. He also wants her to keep a low profile, given the obvious criminals out...
