Chapter 13 - The day before Noah is to be shipped out, he poses for a photo with Delphine and Tilly that, Tilly says in narration, she still has. The first attempt ends with the photographic glass accidentally shattering on the floor, which Delphine says is a bad omen. Later, on their way to the docks to see Noah off, the ladies encounter Dr. Hutchings, now dressed in uniform. They see him off as well, along with three hundred other soldiers, sailing down the river into what history records as the infamous Battle of Belmont.
