Toad

Toad is a friend of Water Rat, Mole, and Badger in the neighborhood of River Bank. However, Toad is distinct from all of his friends because he has inherited a tremendous amount of wealth, and lives a lavish lifestyle, in contrast to their more modest ways. Toad's posh, upper-class upbringing has also left him with a large number of egotistical personality quirks. These include: grandiosely telling exaggerated and/or false tales about his personal triumphs, and having limited impulses when it comes to pursuing the material goods he wants, as is quickly evident with his pursuit of a motorcycle.

The personality trait of Toad's that becomes most exposed during his harrowing adventure with Rabbit is his ability to become quickly and completely discouraged.
