Summary
Chapter 15
Joel rushes to Fitch’s office, arriving just as Fitch is preparing to go to the crime scene. Harding escorts both Joel and Fitch out of the office to the train station. Before they leave campus, they run into Melody, but are forced to leave her behind. Joel is excited to learn that he will be riding on a train to one of the other islands. He has never been outside of Jamestown, New Britannia. As they wait to leave, Harding and Fitch tell Joel that the victim’s father was a politician, meaning that this death could cause a drive to open more Rithmatist schools which might fracture the spirit of teamwork in Nebrask.
