Chapters 29-31 Summary

Chapter 29

The Yggdrasill continues its tour of Pax worlds for several days, and in ones and twos Aenea's disciples are dropped off. Aenea drops a reluctant Rachel off at her home planet of Barnard's World, and leaves the Dorje Phamo to help Dem Loa and the people of Vitus. A. Bettik takes the consul's Ship to Hyperion to deliver a message to Aenea's uncle, Martin Silenus. Finally, Aenea, Raul, DeSoya, Het Masteen, and the Shrike are all that remain, and they jump to Pacem.

Chapter 30

The Yggdrasill is attacked immediately upon entry into the Pacem system. Aenea transports down to Vatican City along with Raul and DeSoya. The Shrike then carries Het Masteen and the Yggdrasill away from the battle and through space and time for a rendezvous with the Hyperion pilgrimage in the past.

DeSoya helps Aenea and Raul sneak into St. Peter's Basilica...
