Summary
In Chapter 11 (in 1924), Josephine is frustrated with Major for failing to listen to her about his disagreement with Aristide Taylor, but agrees to go to a function at Jericho's school. She brings Link, and Eliza's mother Cyrile and brother Louis are also in attendance. During dinner afterwards, Major says that Aristide apologized and said he could keep the crops from the property line. Link tells Major that this happened because Josephine offered Aristide's son a job, which Josephine did not want Major to know. Major gets angry that she did not consult him first, and Louis tells him he should “stop talking to women about men's business” (114).
