Summary
Grant and Eleanor celebrated winning their Surplus Fields’ lawsuit and prepared for their next legal fight to prove NettieFood contained harmful sedatives. Increased drone presence, including types that Grant identified as army-combatants, added to his anxiety about Aunt Nettie.
With the possibility of Olympic competition approaching, pressures intensified on the Net U team. Grant, speculating on the ChinRussian’s abilities, shared how baseball was “more than a sport” (153) to Gwen’s teammates, but also “the level playing field we envisioned” (153). Having sat out for the first few games, Gwen described her performance against the Army team which carried Net U to victory. She wrote about Coach Link, who she was spending more time with, and how he empathized with her situation as an outsider.
