Part 2, Superstition Exhibition: Chapters 27-32 Summary
In chapter twenty-seven, Smithback goes to the museum library and researches the Whittlesey Expedition. Smithback learns that everyone associated with the expedition is dead, lost either in the Amazon or killed in a plane crash. The crates filled with the expedition's artifacts sat in Brazil for a year before it was finally placed on a ship to New York. However, the ship was delayed in New Orleans for several months for unknown reasons.
In chapter twenty-eight, Margo is in her office when George calls to invite her to lunch. Margo is waiting for Dr. Frock to return a call so she invites George to her office.
