Summary
Chapter 1: Toll Barrier at Alnabru. 1 November 1999.
Harry and Ellen were in their car at the toll booth listening to transmissions on the radio about the President’s visit to Oslo, Norway. Ellen heard that a well-known American psychologist thought that the President suffered from MPD – multiple personality disorder. In other words, he was a Jekyll and Hyde. A voice saying “Passed Post 27” came from the walkie-talkie on the dashboard. A short while later, “post 62 to HQ” was to look into an unmarked car parked on the roadside. Ellen spotted a robin redbreast an unusual sight late in the fall. The bird was taking a risk by staying that long.
Ellen confirmed that the gas station and the toll booths had been cleared of all customers and employees. Harry was concerned that Ellen’s bullet-proof vest wasn’t strong enough. Someone...
