The Street

The initial action in the novel happens on the street. This is where Laure is mugged and hit over the head. This is also where the handbag is stolen, then it is later dumped.

The Bookstore

This is where Laurent works. It was his passion to open up a bookstore instead of becoming a lawyer. This is where he finds out many of the clues that help him find Laure. It is also where Laure finally finds him.

The Cafe

This is where Laurent meets with his daughter, Chloe. He also meets his friend, Pascal there later on in the day.

The Hotel

When Laure was hit over the head she goes to a nearby hotel and asks for a room for the night. When she doesn't come down the next morning the staff finds her comatose in her room.
