Oscar

Oscar is an 11-year-old orphan with thick black hair and little experience dealing with people. Master Caleb removes him from the Children’s Home so that he can look after those tasks that are too menial for him or his apprentice to have to do. It is Oscar’s job to extract plant oils, grind leaves into powders, fill small vials with tinctures, and collect any herbs or plants required by Master Caleb.

Oscar lives in the cellar in a small room where he is kept company by a regular parade of cats of all kinds. His life is simple and uncomplicated until the day that Wolf is killed and Oscar is expected to fill his position until other arrangements can be made.
