Summary
In the dark of night, the truth of the past is revealed to Oscar and he can hear Wolf’s voice in his head telling him he isn’t right. As far back as the Home, he hears the voices saying he won’t be taken by anyone. Crow hops onto his chest and begins to purr, her voice a quiet ‘shhh’ that lulls him to sleep. By morning, Caleb is gone and Oscar is determined to work hard and be loyal. He tells himself he won’t be odd.
