Harrow Road Library

In order to quell these sentiments, they turn to the library for an escape from the reality. However, the library offers much more. The space not only comforts them, but makes them feel accepted while offering them chances to meet new people.

The Reading List

Naina’s reading list symbolizes connection. Shortly before her death, Naina leaves copies of her booklist around town and inside various books. As the characters discover the lists, they feel seen and understood. Eventually the lists lead them to the library and into communication with one another. The list is also a formal device the author uses to connect her characters’ disparate experiences on the page.
