Point of View

The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend is told entirely from the first person perspective of its main character, Sara Lindqvist who takes her first extended vacation ever, deciding to visit Amy Harris in Broken Wheel, Iowa for a period of several weeks. Interspersed between the chapters which chronicle her time in Broken Wheel are letters from the woman who inspired Sara to take this trip - Amy Harris. Sadly, Amy dies just before Sara arrives, and the friends who met online never get to meet in person. The letters appear throughout the story, revealing background and Amy's opinions of people and current issues are offered. Amy's insights allow Sara some advantage when it comes to getting to know the locals.
