Chapters 40 and 41 Summary

Neeve and Whelk are in his car. After Whelk picked Neeve up, she used her Taser on Whelk, tied him up and put him in the back seat. The gloves Neeve is wearing and the gloves in one of the bowls in the backseat with him, along with the candles and scissors, suggest to Whelk that Neeve is going to perform a ritual where he is the sacrifice. He thinks also that Neeve hasn't tied him tight enough.

Blue goes home and Adam shows up there. He says he wants to kiss Blue. They hug each other and Blue tells Adam to continue to be brave. That night, Adam has a dream.
