Part II—Pages 44-51 Summary

In Part II, pages 44-51, Trent just finishes obtaining a confession when he receives a call from Detective Braxton. Braxton is waiting for a high-profile case to transition from a police officer to a professional who gives seminars and workshops on interrogating suspects. Trent tells Braxton to fax him the details of the case and to have the Senator's driver pick him at 6 a.m. the next morning.

When Detective Braxton calls Trent, Braxton mentions that the senator is interested in solving the murder of Alicia Bartlett, which indicates to Trent that this may be his chance to make his transition.
