In Part II, pages 40-43, the district attorney, Alvin Dark, asks Detective Braxton what he has on the Alicia Bartlett murder. The detective admits he has a suspect and a gut feeling. The detective also talks the district attorney into calling Trent, who is a famous interrogation officer, in on the case.
