Catherine Wolfe Donohue

Catherine was a “shy, quiet” woman whose job at Radium Dial would be her first (42). She was a devout Catholic who attended the local church located close to the studio. She was diligent and dependable, and these qualities powered her through nine years with the company. She was a valued employee, and to keep her working for them, they let her take a vacation once she began to fall ill. The vacation did not help, and even though she remained grateful for her job that seemed to care for her well-being, they fired her due to her limp. Radium Dial believed that she would cause negative word-of-mouth if she were to continue working for them, but it only made Catherine realize that this company had not been what she thought it was.
