Chapter 9, 10, 11, 12 Summary

In chapter nine, Malcolm is called back to the warden's office. The FBI agents, Hanski and Erardi are back to talk to him along with a Mr. Dunleavy, an assistant U.S. Attorney from the Southern District of Virginia, Roanoke office. Malcolm outlines for them the deal he wants. It has to be secret and he wants a written agreement approved by the U.S. Attorney's offices in the Northern and Southern Districts. He will then give them the name of the killer. When the murderer is indicted, Malcolm will be freed from prison and taken into witness protection. He wants his prison sentence commuted, his record expunged and plastic surgery, as well as the reward money and a new life.
