Owen Kiskaddon
Owen is the youngest son of the Lord and Lady Kiskaddon. He is a kind, gentle little boy who is highly intelligent, loves to read, and has learned that being willing to cuddle with his mothers and sisters earns him kindness and love in return. Owen has a shock of white hair on the side of his head, which is noted but not explained in this novel of the series. Owen was stillborn; but, the midwife, Ankarette, revived him. That connection between Ankarette and Owen is the reason Lady Kiskaddon chooses Owen as the king's prisoner. Lady Kiskaddon fears for the fate of any of her children who are in the king's control, but she hopes that Ankarette can keep Owen safe.
