Summary
In Chapter 27, “The Eel,” Berwick rushes Owen and Evie to a hidden room where Mancini and Ankarette are waiting. Mancini saw a rider rush in at Our Lady and gave him a muffin that gave him a terrible stomach ache, which will delay the rider's arrival at the castle. The rider is going to say that Jon Tunmore, Deconeus of Ely, has been captured. Ankarette comes up with a “vision” Owen is supposed to relate to Severn. The story is that Owen had a vision that he was an eel caught on a hook.
Berwick returns and makes a show of “finding” Owen and Evie hiding in the room. They go to breakfast where Severn is already waiting for them. Owen is afraid to tell Severn about his “vision” but Evie gives him the courage to speak. When he finally gets the story...
