The Lure of Power
People will often do anything to gain power, and the prospect of what they can do with that power has a tendency to blur lines between right and wrong. Many of the characters of this novel are extreme examples of how far one is willing to go to gain power and what they are willing to do with the power they have. From parents who place a magic bridle on their daughter to control her to a mortal girl who has to battle magical creatures – including a huge serpent – the characters effectively demonstrate the lure of power.
