Summary

In Chapter 23, the hall is in chaos. Grima Mog takes her to another room where she “growls” at Jude to get control of herself. Jude sinks to the floor and pledges that she will be alright “in a minute” (222). Jude says she needs to find Baphen but Grima Mog points out that people will be looking to knock her from the throne. She says Jude has to appear queenly now. She cannot go find him, but she must summon him. Jude appoints Grima Mog as Grand General, saying Yorn does not have enough experience for this. She says Grima Mog is to know where the snake is. She begins to issue commands to Fand, including sending for Taryn. When the Bomb arrives, Jude is more composed. She assigns the Bomb to find out everyone who is still loyal to her and to execute...
