Summary

This story details events that occur during a weekend retreat between two families who do not know each other or like each other very much. The Dennison family is a middle class family with one daughter. The wife, Vanessa, has no interest in visiting the Sanderbys family in their second home this weekend. She must attend this weekend because Nick Sanderbys is an old college friend of her husband, Philip. Nick is now in upper academia while her husband, Philip, is a lawyer. Nick has just purchased a new summer home and wants to host a party and show off the new real estate. Jill explains how lucky they were to get the property because the previous owners had a child die and they wanted to get away from the memories there. The family is escorted on a tour of the new home...
