Nik

Nik is the female protagonist of the novel. As a young woman living in L.A., Nik struggles to balance her personal and romantic life with her budding freelance writing career. After Fisher, her boyfriend of five months, proposes to her in public without prior discussion, Nik's love life is thrown into turmoil. Instead of accepting to save face in front of thousands of Dodgers fans, Nik turns Fisher down, proving her strong will and independence. The last thing she expects, however, is to be rescued by Carlos, a handsome and eager stranger.
