Ead Duryan

Known throughout the guide as Ead, her real name is Eadaz du Zala uq-Nana. She is a member of the Priory of the Orange Tree, a secret organization devoted to fighting evil, specifically dragons. Ead is a strong young woman, both physically and emotionally, but she also has weaknesses. Ead is sent to Inys where she is supposed to ensure Sabran's safety, at least until Sabran gives birth to a daughter. At this point, many people believe the Nameless One will remain bound as long as Sabran's line continues. Ead does her duty, protecting Sabran by killing several assassins who try to enter Sabran's bedchamber. Ead later realizes that these were staged attempts, actually intended to frighten Sabran into seeking an alliance with the East to fight the Nameless one.
