Politics versus Patriotism
Duncan battles many opponents who are interested in playing politics more than they are interested in what is best for America. This means that his peers are considered more about their own ambition and status than they are in doing what is best for the country. Because they are more worried about their own reputations and have their own agendas, Duncan is not able to trust them. This lack of trust leads to a breakdown in the leadership of the country, causing a major hurdle for Duncan when trying to protect the country against a potential cyberterrorism attack.
