Thomas Covenant
Thomas Covenant is the main character in The Power That Preserves. The story is the third in a series about the life of Thomas Covenant and how he is pulled to a mythical place called the Land from reality. Covenant is certain that this place is a figment of his imagination and so does not exist but knows that his survival in his own world is directly linked to what happens in his dream. Covenant spends a great deal of time in the book coming into contact with people he has wronged on his past journeys to the Land. Although many in the Land believe Covenant is a tool of Lord Foul, the one who wants to destroy the Land, he is still treated as a hero and many are willing to die for him even when they believe he is to blame for the hurt around...
