Chapters Twelve and Thirteen Summary
The hike to the cave takes Marina about twenty five minutes, but the return trip takes less than five. She races to Adelina's room and tells her the Mogadorians have arrived. Adelina doesn't take the threat seriously. Sister Dora shows up and asks why Marina is not in the kitchen. Marina tells her to shut up, stunning her silent as she grabs her coat, and leaves. She heads into town, and discovers Hector in the cafe instead of getting ready for El Festin. A stranger enters and sits behind them. Something about him bothers Marina. He watches her, and when she sees the title of the book he is reading (Pittacus of Mytilene and the Athenian War), she is so unnerved that she runs out, convinced that he is a Mogadorian.
