A large portion of the story takes place at Miss Strangeworth’s home as she goes about her daily routine. She can often be found looking at her house and her rose garden, pleased with the history her family has in the town and content to know that she is an established presence among the community. The house is kept perfectly clean and the rose garden is lush and enviable – so much so that tourists often ask Miss Strangeworth if they can have one of her roses. The inside of Miss Strangeworth’s house is clean and tidy, rife with antiques that were passed down through two generations. She takes great pride in her decor and their history, and frequently pauses throughout her day to take in how lovely her home is.
