Pages 104 - 126 Summary
In this section of the book, DeYancey begins to present his case. He intends to prove that Bonnie Dee was already dead before Daniel and Edna Earle had walked into the house. He calls many people who testify that Bonnie Dee had called for Daniel to come to the house. Dr. Ewbanks testifies that Bonnie Dee's death was death by misadventure. He testifies that when he arrived at the Ponder house Bonnie Dee was already dead and Daniel and Edna Earle needed more attention than Bonnie Dee. DeYancey also calls on Edna Earle to testify. One of the things that DeYancey concentrates on is the commonness of Daniel's message to Bonnie Dee.
