Edna Earle next tells how Bonnie Dee Peacock and Daniel happened to meet. Bonnie Dee had come into Clay and taken a job in the ten-cent store. On the day that Daniel left Grandpa Ponder in the asylum, he went to the store and saw Bonnie Dee there. Edna Earl assumes he told Bonnie Dee about the Ponder house and his money, and then asked her to marry him. Two and one half hours later, the two return to town from Silver City where they were married. Narciss, the cook at the Ponder house, had driven them to Silver City in Grandpa Ponder's Studebaker.
Edna Earle learns of the marriage when Narciss pulls up to the hotel. Narciss waits until a crowd has gathered before she announces the news that Daniel has taken a new wife to Edna Earle. Edna Earle...
