Chapters 11-19 Summary

Chapter 11 starts with Jack's arrival in Chicago. Jack had gone to journalism school in the city and was sad when he could not get a good job and was forced to return to Denver. Jack often revisited the city to visit friends and favorite haunts but eventually the trips became infrequent. Unfortunately Jack would not have much time in Chicago as he was only permitted to spend 24 hours in the city. The author details Jack's trek through the city and goes to the location where a child had been murdered the year before. Jack tries to reconcile the facts between this case and the one involving Theresa Lofton but there are not many common factors. The only common factors seem to be that both victims were missing for 24 hours before being discovered, both bodies had been mutilated, and both were connected...
