Summary

Gilbert woke to noises Yosa was making in the bathroom, and took it upon himself to look inside the young man's gym bag, where he found a book called The Complete Manual of Suicide. Gilbert called Mathilda, and when she asked when he planned to return home, he told her he was not sure. She became irate and hung up. He then began composing a long text message to her. Yosa emerged from the bathroom and began writing a new suicide note. Then they went to breakfast. Yosa explained that he had found a better location for his suicide in the handbook, and the two men set out for Takashimadaira. It was a nondescript suburban neighborhood full of tall apartment buildings, one of which the two men entered, and made their way up to the roof.
