Blindfold

The blindfold that Katurian begins the play with is a symbol of the unknown. He is blind, unable to see what will befall him within the walls of the police station, just as the audience is.

Apple Figurines

The apple figurines from "The Little Apple Men," are symbols of power and destruction. The girl uses them to kill her father, but they become too powerful and kill her, too.

Toes

The boy's toes in “The Tale on the Town on the River” are a symbol of sacrifice. The man takes them so that the boy will remain safe in the future.

Electrodes

The electrodes that Ariel and Tupolski use to torture Katurian with are symbols of oppression and fear. They use them in order to coerce a statement out of Katurian, but it does not count.
