Chapter 6 Summary
A busy day for Queenie begins with a breakfast visit from Sonny Massie. Conversation reveals that busybody Lizzy Olive offered to buy one of Zepha's prize quilts, but was refused. Their conversation is interrupted by the arrival of Velma Burgett, who wants to talk to Queenie about their encounter at the Hollywood Café and to ask her not to tell anyone what she saw. When Queeenie agrees, further conversation reveals that that Velma knows the man she was with at the Café is married, and that the man had been cheated by Ben Crook. After wondering who would have dumped Ben's body by the side of the road, Velma leaves.
