Summary
Chapter 18 opens with an email about setting routines and getting help. Francie is in a bookstore and finds Charlie’s debut novel and thinks about how they have been fighting. Francie overhears the news identifying Francie as one of the women in the photograph from the Jolly Llama. Francie buys Charlie’s book and leaves. On the sidewalk, Francie sees Winnie being hounded by the press. Francie joins Winnie in Winnie’s apartment and Winnie explains that she hasn’t responded to Francie’s texts because she does not know what to say.
