Section 13: pages 104-111 Summary
In Los Angeles on June 21 with only hours until the summer solstice deadline, Percy, Grover and Annabeth land in the sea, and when Annabeth asks how they got there, Percy says that what belongs to the sea always returns to the sea. He also notes that Hades was not the thief: someone else stole the master bolt and framed Percy because he is Poseidon's never-should-have-been-born child. While Annabeth notes that Poseidon will take the blame and war will begin by sundown, Grover wonders who is so sneaky and so eager for war, causing Percy to look suspiciously at Ares who pulls up on his motorcycle and notes that Percy was supposed to die in the Underworld. Percy accuses Ares of tricking him and stealing the helm and the bolt, but Ares insists that he did not do it personally...
