The Three Pigeons
This is the tavern run by the Flasucra sisters. The tavern has several rooms and a loft where Jobau sleeps. They sometimes rent rooms to travelers. Plazensa cooks and makes ale while her two sisters help with the daily requirements of operation. The sisters have rooms in the tavern, and Plazensa sometimes entertains men overnight. Dolssa stays with them in one of the extra rooms until the church officials descend on Bajas, searching for her.
Provensa
This is the word used to describe the region where Botille and the other characters live. It is where the actions of the novel take place. The country is war-torn by crusaders who have become so harsh with their judgments that people are terrified of them. The constant fighting has become the main identifier of the country, where people are often hungry and unable to meet their daily needs.
