Dolssa de Stigata
Dolssa is a young woman who is anointed by God but persecuted by the church officials of the time. She has a close relationship with Jesus, and refers to him as her beloved. She considers her relationship with him to be that of a woman betrothed to a man, and she has set aside her life to do as Jesus commands. She is a strong character, though she has moments of weakness. When she is being chased across the country, she loses her faith and believes that God has turned his back on her. With Botille's help, she eventually realizes that she is acting like a spoiled, entitled child rather than a woman chosen by God, and she regains her faith.
Dolssa is not afraid of the inquisitors when she begins her religious teachings, and she believes she will be left alone if she speaks out...
