Summary
Chapter 27 is titled “Lucien de Saint-Honore.” Friar Lucien is spending the night in a convent, and he has an erotic dream about Dolssa. He is terrified when he wakes, but relieved that it was a dream. He believes that Dolssa is a symbol of “all that would ruin Christendom” (200).
Chapter 28 is “Prior Pons de Saint-Gilles.” The prior attends a service conducted by Bishop Raimon de Fauga. Raimon joins the prior on a bench in the church, though sitting there hurts his back terribly. The prior finds it odd that Hugo and Lucien are searching for Dolssa, and that neither has found her.
