Chapter 17 is titled “Abrahe Iudio, Witness Testimony recorded by Lucien, The River Port at Carcassona.” Lucien notes that Abrahe is a 33-year-old Jewish wine merchant. He says he gave wine to a woman and his wife gave her an apple, and that the woman then went south.
